Darkness in the Daytime: A Halloween Trunk-or-Treat & Solar Eclipse Watch Party
Join us Saturday, October 14!
Join us for a spooktacular event, Darkness in the Daytime: A Halloween & Solar Eclipse Watch Party! Get ready for a unique experience as we combine the excitement of Halloween with the rare phenomenon of a solar eclipse.
Prepare to be amazed as we witness the sky darken in broad daylight during this once-in-a-lifetime celestial event. We have technology and tactile representations for blind and visually impaired children and adults to experience this marvel. So dress up in your favorite Halloween costumes and bring your friends and family along for a morning filled with fun, laughter, and a touch of mystery. We’ll have music, food, trunk-or-treating, crafts, and games.
We are also calling for volunteers to make this event a success!
- Volunteers will set up between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, with the event opening to families at 10:00 AM
- Each volunteer group will have 3 parking spaces (at least 16 ft by 27 ft) for their set-up
- Please bring a car to park for trunk-or-treating or table to hand out candy
- Please bring candy to hand out to the children
- Please bring 1 yard game that is accessible for children with low vision (We are also happy to provide a list of accessible ideas!)
Please visit our Eventbrite page and sign up for a “Volunteer” ticket so we know you’re coming!
