Vibrant Works CEO Elected to Lead NAEPB

Vibrant Works President and CEO Cindy Watson Elected President of the National Association for the Employment of People Who Are Blind

San Antonio, Texas – Vibrant Works proudly announces that President and CEO Cindy Watson has been elected President of the National Association for the Employment of People Who Are Blind (NAEPB). Watson succeeds Jeff Mittman, President and CEO of Bosma Enterprises, who was recently appointed to the U.S. AbilityOne Commission by President Donald J. Trump.

Watson previously served as Executive Vice President of NAEPB, where she worked closely with Mittman and other national leaders to advance employment opportunities for individuals who are blind.

Soraya Correa, president and CEO of National Industries for the Blind (NIB), said Watson, who is also a member of the NIB Board of Directors, is the ideal choice to lead NAEPB at this pivotal time due to her lifelong commitment to empowering people who are blind.

“She has long been a passionate advocate for public policy in her community, and her leadership roles at NIB-associated nonprofit agencies across the country have given her profound insight into the barriers individuals who are blind face in securing meaningful employment.”

“I am deeply honored to serve as President of NAEPB,” said Watson. “Employment is transformative. It empowers people who are blind to live with independence, confidence, and dignity. I look forward to working with our member organizations and national partners to continue strengthening opportunities and ensuring people who are blind have access to meaningful careers.”

Founded in 2001, NAEPB represents and protects the collective interests of nonprofit agencies across the United States that employ people who are blind. NAEPB was formed to give these agencies a strong, unified voice alongside NIB, a central nonprofit agency that administers the AbilityOne Program. Together, NAEPB and NIB work to expand employment, advocacy, and opportunities that empower people with vision loss across the nation.

Since 2021, Watson has served as President and CEO of Vibrant Works, formerly San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind, where she leads a dynamic social enterprise dedicated to empowering individuals with vision loss through meaningful employment and life-changing services.
